I'm not sure why you're all having a go at poor shiggyshaggy. He's right in the sense that it is a slur, just like any other slur. This isn't a game of 'Which Slur Is The Most Offensive?!', this is simply someone saying that he has every right to feel offended by a slur that is close to home, because of family members suffering from disability. For the record......I am generally and emphatically offended by this whole thread and hop the mods will remove it. The whole thread is in bad taste and is obviously directed towards me because I am the most vocal about not using the R word.

YES....It IS a slur just like the N word or any other slur. The R word is an ableist slur towards the mentally disables. I personally take offense to it being used on this site because I have siblings who are mentally disabled. I get a lot of flack from trolls on this site for it, but I mentioned it whenever I hear it on the internet or real life.

I ask that this thread be removed as it is offensive and not in keeping with the TOS to have such a discussion here especially one that is clearly aimed at me since I was vocal in games and in forums to not use that offensive slur.
The thread was made by a mod I'm pretty sure he wasn't aiming to offend you specifcally and it means the mods approve of it so there is no need to delete it. lol

Just because a mod made it does not make it inappropriate. It should not have been made especially by a mod.
