Everyone knows the best strategy in DLYV was single yak and BP-yak swap. Almost impossible to lose this way. But few people have the creativity to make that succesful.

i used to fearkill zovea back in the day because he'd be the only player with the gusto to accurately FOS me aside from tryhards
Zovea if you are playing properly and you think you know how people should and should not learn, don't you think you'd win more than 6% under half of your games?
it was a shift in meta. we started lynching on day 1 mylo and not letting people claim when they got lynched (even tracker) and we were pretty accurate when we did it. and during the times we got the lynch wrong. mafia ended up hitting BP and getting wrecked after that

Yak is the key to understanding how to play either side. Yes yak setups will be outgrown, however mafia have a huge edge currently because townies aren't conditioned to think or act on their own.
I'd have to see DLYV in the current meta to understand if its actually mafia's fault for losing. If so things can be done to fix that. DLYV is more of a fun setup than a competitive one anyways, I'd be looking for one that gives town a shot at mafia with incompetent players without crowding out mafia's chances at a decent game.
