If you haven't seen any of these then you should watch them post-haste: Death note, Sword Art Online (Alfheim is terrible, but push through it since GGO is good and the second half of the second series was amazing), Code Geass, No game No life, Full metal alchemist brotherhood (This isn't a sequal to the original FMA, it's a remake that is /actually good/, the original screwed up badly), Madoka Magica (Not even joking, you'll thank me later), Baccano!, Angel Beats! and Btooom!
I have a few more personal recommendations but these are ones that a really well made and you're probably likely to like regardless of your preferences.
