yes. in a sense. but more accurately... we have become too strong to need emotion to survive and have thus cast it into the irrelevant pile of garbage that the evolutionary chain forced us to inherit. we are weaker as a result, yes. but only when the grid goes offline
but apathy is more of an abstract concept relating to a lack of emotional being than an actual thing that can do policing and stuff. have you ever considered that apathy is actually the result of humanity? instead of its overlord?
