I would like to confess that prior to Flex being resuspended, I had typed a paragraph explaining why I was going to preemptively suspend Flex. Then a rogue mod went and did it already. I didn't intend to step down unless I was demodded - all I wanted to do was the right thing. And if Flex should have rightfully won gold, then I think things would have worked themselves out.

The reason I want to say this is because it's a bit sad to see people think the only reason it happened was because someone with nothing to lose did it instead of the mod team actually caring about what was going on. And they did, and I did, and I stand behind the decision I ended up not being able to make as controversial as it almost was. Enjoy the anti-climax.
