remember the time you played 30 games with a convicted cheater and didn't fos them once
Remember the time they were actually town in just about every game and the only time they were mafia I died n1/n2 so maybe I'm actually just good at mafia?

well, you've never been a mod and you never will be
I remember the day that Delicate was a mod
gist i appreciate it but let's scratch that from the table because it was only temporary (edit: 8 hours) to help out during a bad time for the site
I guess it wasn't a day then. My bad. I tried :(

that was actually meant to be a subtle burn at justrec, but cheaters shouldn't be mods.
Shame there are like 2 up on that mod board.

slow was good at investigations because of his mentality - get the person banned whether they're guilty or not.

Personally, and i totally did say this in my little schpeel, my interaction with slow rubbing me the wrong way did not at all discredit what he did as a mod. I just didn't think he was a respectful guy after that, that's all. I still knew he did his duty as a mod, i didn't discredit him for that. That'd be silly, thinking "oh no slow didn't do any work on that cheating investigation, i dont like him! it couldnt have been him!" Completely absurd. But maybe i'm the only one who has that sort of rational thought process

not everyone with simple morals and judgment can do cheating investigations, especially the way slow did it.
Hibikiover 11 years agoedited
it turns you off from the site and forces you to stick around due to your sense of responsibility. that's why the people who don't like modding don't like modding

im still legitimately on the fence about this one. how easy is modding?
easy if you take it in stride and don't treat it like an actual job. i think that's what happened to slow and he became burned out because he felt obligated to do this without any reward in return. a thankless job you could say

i know there are a ton of people saying 'well he was a douche to me so he didn't deserve it' but even so denying all he did and how much time he spent into modding (and doing it well may i add) is a bit ignorant

you don't really have to like him or agree with his methods but they were efficient and i think he did care enough about the site and it's well being in the end and that's all that really matters if we're speaking from a mod perspective

It doesn't matter how much work he put into it. If he is a douche, I don't expect people to respect or appreciate him or his work. That's called the real world. And me not being a mod has nothing to do with it. I know for a fact that anyone with simple morals and judgement can do the job swimmingly.
Hibikiover 11 years ago
i mean, i guess it's not necessary but there's always an element of "ehhhh" around mods past and present that don't have that knack
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
@Connor it's because some of the mods unapologetically treated people i care about like garbage /during/ their modship in pre-games and on the forums, unprovoked, just for their kicks. The only time you've seen me post on the forums is when I have something to say (read: something I'm mad at or feel strong about, like now) and in forum mafia so i don't blame your perception of me

well, you've never been a mod and you never will be, so it's understandable that you don't know how much work slow actually put in with the cheating investigations. im sure bronto and the current mods and admins can attest to it though
