I haven't really seen the mentor program being used all that much, and I thought of maybe implementing the mentoring into account creation. Right now I don't see much going on with the mentorship program because it isn't that heavily advertised, but if it were an option at the account creation, they wouldn't be able to ignore it, right?
I have no coding knowledge so I don't know how possible this is, but the process would go like this:
someone creates an account --> during the account creation process, it asks "are you a returning player?" if yes --> regular account creation, if no --> "would you like to enter into a mentorship program where an experienced player would help you become familiar with strategies, vocab, etc?"
then they would automatically be shuffled into the mentorship program where they would be randomly assigned one of the mentors who specialize in beginners. Then once they fit the criteria they would be shifted into the intermediate, and then advanced, and then released into the world ready to win competitions!!!
Let me know what you think guys, I've sent it to various people in positions of power but the community's opinion is important too!
maybe instead of automatically appointing them a mentor, bring them to the mentor thread or a wiki page outlining the mentor program during the account creation process
I remember when the guy made it :) lucidrains is cooler now, everyone used to hate him a lot more haha. He doesn't deserve all the hate ofc, back then and now, but the vid is still hilarious
None, unless we spread word of the quality of the contents of these videos. They're quite informative and utterly hilarious. "HE'STHESCUM, no, HE'STHESCUM".
