'Cleaner' mods

Miloo7about 12 years ago

No intro. We need lite-moderators who are only able to delete/edit posts from lobbies or forums. We need the quote below can't be achieved:

thebrontosaurus19h 13m!+2 Well my dear friend, here is a direct quote from lucid: "anything you don't want a 10 year old to see, censor it".

Our mods are doing a good job with the reports but they are not online 24/7 and I don't think that they go through all of the comments/posts on the site.
This is a report made by me about a comment in the training lobby which contained some vulgar language and It got removed about 2 hours after when I initially made the report: https://epicmafia.com/report/100869
Afterwards I checked again and there were more comments which wouldn't be suitable for a 10 y.o.'s viewing but I just didn't bother to report them... So...

Poll
...Do you think EM needs 'Cleaners'?

Miloo, please feel absolutely free to pm me with the link ok? With censors, it's a little better, but still.

Again where is the no option on this poll?

" You suck, there should only be one Mr. Clean."

i think what the website needs is an automatic censoring system. no one has the time to go through every single thing posted in the forums, walls, and chats, and we already have enough mods working their butts off anyway... so if we get a system that looks for keywords and automatically censors them with asterisks, i think many users would be satisfied with these new regulations

We don't need more people cleaning anything. The site is plagued enough as it is and quite frankly it has triggered more people trolling and deliberately posting against the new rules.

Again where is the no option on this poll?

I don't get how some mods seem to miss this but if it takes 2 hours for a a comment like the one I reported to get deleted from the site then OBVIOUSLY they need more people to help them with that. I'm not sure but if LaurieRose is the ONLY one responsible for keeping the site clean then ofc that's not gonna be enough for the WHOLE site. Training, Comp, Sandbox, ... and even some of the other lobbies like Reverse are just too many for one person to be 'cleaned'.

Compliment
We could just start censoring cuss words like PG-13 websites do.
What type of words are you thinking of?

We don't have enough posts as of yet to warrent a janitor system. If there's something you don't like, inform a moderator, otherwise hopefully new systems coming will make it painless if something needs to be reported or hidden.

We already have enough cleaners

Training forum isn't as active, so it isn't moderated as frequently.

I spend hours going through lobbies. I have keywords that I'm searching. Once the flagging capability can happen, the community can help with that.

That's the point. You sure can't keep up with all the trolls spamming around. Specially if you're doing that by your own. Flagging would help but only if there's an option which would delete the post after getting flagged like more than 5 times (which would have it's own cons with haters and stalkers).

Make more activity, and forum mods may be necessary.
Dude, the thing that I reported was sitting pretty nice on the training lobby page for 2 hours and no one removed it. IF you want to keep the site clean you're gonna need more eyes.
gistofeverythingabout 12 years ago
Forums aren't active enough for real forum mods. Laurie's enough. We needed forum mods for the big cleanup that happened last week (which I did), but that was a task of a larger scale than what activity can justify this.

Make more activity, and forum mods may be necessary.

I personally agree with this with all of my heart. Not only would it open up some nice positions to those who really want to make a difference on the site, but it would show that the community is taking steps toward cleaning up the site for Google, or any other sort of Advertisement site. I'm all for this!
