Think of this. You play as a medic and win as village for over 1000 games as medic. When you die in a new game, you appear as a golden medic upon death. You play as mafia and die after 1000 games and appear as a gold mafia. So lets do the math. Players get up to like 10 hearts a day with 20 total in reserve? I don't know because I'v never used them all, but, lets assume 10 hearts a day. That's over at least 100 days worth of hearts to unlock a golden version of a role, but, that doesn't really include the fact that you probably will play other roles in between, thus messing up the count toward 1000. Because of this, perhaps at 100 there could be a silver version of said roles. This color scheme permanently carries over into games that aren't ranked, but, can be turned off in settings. What do you guys think?
