coopRiddle 1

deleteddeletedalmost 8 years ago

I decided to launch a new series of forum games.

You can comment a word in the thread. (unlimited times) I will quote the comment with a number in a comment after a while. (No more than 1 words in the comment)

The winner is whoever finds the logic behind the number. (You may post the logic as an additional comment, but it won't get quoted unless the logic is correct)

This riddle is just for fun - no prizes will be given!

Good luck!

Hint: Sometimes the answer is different for different users. So checking responses to others can be the trick!

Words have to be 3 or more letters in length. You can use letters a-z and A-Z only

  • Round 1 winner: Blister (Page 1 - Page 5)
  • Round 2 winner: Blister (Page 5 - Page 8)
  • Round 3 winner: Bannanaxd (Page 8 - Page 22)
  • Round 4 winner: Birbtales (Page 23 - Page 27)
  • Round 5 (by Pinks) started in Page 27.

and y isn't a vowel lmao
y is actually considered both a vowel and a consonant. for the sake of the exercise I had to pick one or the other, and decided to go with vowel.

jfc what a technicality. I've never even heard of an absolute value before.
It's not a technicality at all. Negative values weren't valid, so it couldn't be simply "vowels - consonents" or you'd get results like -18, etc.

Torreador
Same, i think i got it if Pinks made a mistake earlier.

Spirit is on the right track, this is
absolute(nb of consonants - nb of vowels)x (letters in username)

We dont go into negatives when there's more vowels than consonants.

And for that calculation, Y counts as a consonant, not a vowel.

The only problem i have with that is when SinB said "messy" it only went with 4.
Nope, 'y' is a vowel and messy is 4:
2 - 3 = -1 -> |-1| = 1, 1x 4 = 4

Torreador wins!

The answer was:
absolute(number of vowels - number of consonants) x (letters in username)

18
this should be 27 if that's the answer ^
plants by davidlmao is 36. SORRY
Spiritalmost 8 years ago
idk it might not be that, but it's definitely something multiplied by letters in the username since every answer davidlmao got is a multiple of 9, and every one of mine is a multi of 6.
