Hello everyone! I would like to ask the people who are interested in this event to participate and contribute as much as possible.
In order for 2 new roles to be added to em, the community has to work together to refine the ideas that are going to be mentioned below. We have to collectively select 2 of the best ideas and make sure their version is the best one possible. The next step would be to come up with some sort of artwork for the selected roles. Lucid mentioned something about rewarding the users behind the artwork that would get selected in the end for those 2 roles.
Jack the Ripper (originally Hypocrite)
Jack the Ripper hates anyone who kills.
Jack the Ripper only wins when the game ends and all murderers are dead.
If Jack the Ripper receives a gun or knife and kills someone with it, he will not consider himself a murderer.
To Jack the Ripper, murderers are killing roles or any other player that has successfully eliminated someone else (shot, stabbed, blown up, etc.)
If a player survives one of these actions, Jack the Ripper will not consider the attacker a murderer.

Cat Lady
Chooses one player every night. The player is instantly alerted that a cat is at their door. They have two options: Kill the cat, and let it go. If you kill the cat, you are roleblocked and the Cat Lady doesn't know who was visited. If you let it go, the Cat Lady learns your role.

Robinhood
Visits two people, taking all items from the first and giving them to the second (cannot visit self either way)
Action fails if trying to steal from a mafia

Vice President
If the president dies, takes their place
All townies immediately receive a message of their new president
Attends mafia meetings, and makes them anonymous
Cannot win if they are the vice president (~Alyssa)
Gossiper
Chooses one person every night.
Will see some whispers this person receives/makes.
If lynched at the end of the game, the last mafia can guess who the Seer is for autowin.
If the Seer dies, they will appear as a random (non-mafia) role in the setup and their will will always be blank. If dead, the mafia can still attempt a guess to the Seer's identity at the end of the game.
If there are multiple Seers in a game, only one Seer will know the mafia at any given time.
If there are two mafias and multiple Seers, the knowledge of the mafias will be split between them.

Whistleblower
Once per game can force someone to vote someone else. Vote cannot be OT'D if it is a hammer. Sided with maf

If they are the last man standing against a single mafia or third party, the village wins.

Hmmm, in that case I don't think it's a good name idea. I try to avoid names that are trademarked/belong to copyrighted materials. Cthulhu is public domain I believe.
for scout leader you'd want it to be a mason role, maybe they can recruit 1-2 people, any alignment, as scouts, if everyone has cookies, the scouts win. Every night they visit someone to give cookies, they have to choose to accept or not accept. Like "There's knocking at your door, do you answer? Yes/No" and you must give up your night action to accept the cookies, but they will substitute for bread during famine.

I hear that these days the boy scouts just want to be called the "scouts" but we have a role called that. I think "girl scout" might actually be trademarked though, so I'm not sure how that'll fly.
Suicide could rotate among things like "spontaneously combusted", "transported to a higher plane of existence", "went to a farm upstate and no, you can't visit him"
When thinking of the playerbase, I try to consider three different things:
-Applications in unranked, sandbox, survivor, and competitive.
-The meta or potential metas.
-What change would be caused and would it be destructive in any way to how things are done now?
In these regards, my big focus right now is attempting to diversify potential for competitive setups. I think I have a different view on what that looks like than a lot of competitive players, but usually when I find a role, game mode, or any other idea I like I do try to run it by people who I know play competitive frequently. If you have any roles or other suggestions to improve competitive (or really any other suggestions,) please PM them to me! I personally believe that Competitive is one of the most unique things EM offers right now, and desperately needs a revolution to get new players into it.
how about something non-gender specific, like scout leader? do they usually like to brag who they are or no? haha, i don't know anything about boy/girl scouts
Golboco may be a good role suggestor but I don't think you're really taking into consideration of what the playerbase thinks or wants here. Please I went to bed hoping to see you say something like "Haha it was just a joke" in the morning
Lucid PLEASE look at how GodStephCurry upvoted my comment. Somebody in a game said something about you removing suicide from the game, and another person joked about removing "lynch" from the game. It's a joke.
