Life Appreciation Thread

This one will certainly be shorter

i was thinking about how my insecurities make me behave in a way that's super unnatural to me about a little bit ago and how that's always been the case. i got scared that i would always have these very ludicrous insecurities that aren't remotely rooted in reality but then i realized i don't even have the insecurities i had 6/7 years ago. which means again and again, i will outgrow and outlive them.

what a relieving thought!

all those slaves who sang gospel music really had no idea what the real world was like
They also didn't have access to empirical evidence, period. So that's just about the stupidest example I've ever heard.

yes, but the real question is: are you ever literate enough to gauge that?
lmao got 'em

I'm an atheist.

Recidivism, when I was younger I was much more negative about life than I am now. You might get happier over the years too ;-)

I don't know, because I desperately wish I could believe in that stupid crap.

I dont know. I think hardship drives people towards superstition/religion, not away
LadyNemesisabout 9 years ago
Thanks dear, but you're mistaken. I have experienced enough hardship. People died around me and I've had enough struggles with myself as well.

I just changed over the last (give or take) 2 years, learned to follow my passions regardless of what other people might think and of what it may or may not cost me - because some risks are worth taking if it makes you happy.

I got older, things that mattered in the past don't matter that much anymore now, but most of all, I decided to do what I love; accepting the risk it might kill me. But the one thing we know for sure is that life WILL kill us in the end and the one thing I know for sure is that I want to make the most out of it until then.

And after enough hardship, enough struggles and enough sadness I can genuinly say that I accepted myself and that I love doing what I do.

Does that mean every day is perfect? Of course not. Does that mean my life is perfect or that I am perfect? Of course not. But it does mean that life, to me, is absolutely worth living.

I wish that to others too.

I think people like LadyNemesis who believe things on fortune cookies because they haven't experienced much real hardship are adorable, rather than contemptible.
deleteddeletedabout 9 years ago
it's really my fault in the end for not subscribing to a worldview i gleaned from the back of cereal boxes

The alternative is you just keep complaining and be unhappy. If that makes you comfortable, if that's how you want to spend your life, by all means, do so. :P

are your posts ever not condescending in some way error
deleteddeletedabout 9 years ago
lmao
LadyNemesisabout 9 years ago
Why would you get yourself stuck in a situation that makes you unhappy? If you hate your job; find another one. If you hate your relationship; break up. If you hate being single... learn how to love yourself.

If you're not happy - change.

I think life is awesome. Follow your dreams, do what you love, don't let your fears hold you back. You probably only got one life; better make the most out of it. If you're not happy - change.

Jeff is so good at bowling that he feels the need to share it with us whenever he gets a strike. Good job, Jeff! Keep getting those strikes, lad.
