TL;DR: We're starting from a clean state and have demodded everyone as we build a new mod team over the coming days.
Hey guys!
This is something that Nathan has wanted to do for a while, and with the events of the past few days it's been making a lot more sense for me. We're starting the moderator team anew and will be building it from the bottom up over the next coming days.
The mod team hasn't been working well, and with this restart we have the potential of building a better team with less conflict and controversial actions like the ones that have been happening recently. We'll be building the new mod team from a small selection of existing mods and new mods. We will not be re-modding certain moderators.
I want to thank the existing mods for being part of the EM, and I'm sorry for those who aren't being remodded, but it's nothing personal (and please don't take it personally! you're great) and this is for the best.
What a joke. One isolated incident? And that means nothing? You gonna say charley wasnt at fault? I know your hidden agenda. Have people who will blindly listen to you. I'll just wait for the time till lucid picks new admins. There is no hope from idiots like you.
It's a shame that you picked charley as a mod on the criteria that she won't leak. You saw what she did. She helped cover up a blatant abuse of mod powers. Is that the kind of team you want?
The fear of being leaked should always be there. Because it means you will not do shady things in mod chat. Why are you so afraid of leaks? Only people who have something to hide will be afraid. Why are you so hell bent on hiding what you do?
We picked char because she's a great mod who has done a lot of reports, been extremely helpful with role mods and cheating investigations, plus much much more.
Thats terrible logic. She abused her powers to cover up mod abuse. So what makes you think she has integrity? And more than 70 percent of the reports she did was wrong and without reading.
i think while that's a good idea coolkid, it could lead to deficiencies in certain areas if the mods in a particular area aren't up to scratch. i think having mods with all keys is a good idea because they're able to handle anything that's required of them. dedicated forum mods have been tried before and haven't gone terribly, but more often than not they just don't do a whole lot.
i do think survivor lobby would benefit from having survivor-literate users on the team though.
Rather than having a bunch of main lobby mods who have the same job. Give some certain jobs with only the mod keys they need. And have a rep from each active lobby in the mod team to have a say. Its very clear that main lobby mods don't care much for sandbox or survivor affairs. But the users there do. Each lobby having a rep would in the mod team would not only bring the site together better but also make em more effective. Giving ppl specific roles like Cub's forum mods idea would help make modding more effective and less selective. Reading the the logs i saw how little main lobby cared for sandbox and how much they sh.it talked it and the mod team. having a sandbox rep thats main job is to represent sandbox/survivor and gets taught in how to deal with reports in their respective lobbies would solve so many issues and the conflicts of the diff lobbies would significantly drop i recon.
