There are some really cute animes that you can watch if you want something lighthearted and good feels.
1. School Days
Its really just a typical romance harem anime. But the protagonist really develops and learns his lesson at the end. This anime really teaches you about how cheating hurts your partner and i would heavily recommend it.
2. Death Parade
Besides the fact that this anime has 'death' in the name, this anime is really lighthearted and friendly. It kinda revolves around afterlife and such. Just look at the OP. I dont wanna spoil.
3. Welcome to the NHK
this kinda starts darker than the others. But the more you go, the more the protagonist grows more into becoming a better person to find a job, and quit being a lazy Otaku who does nothing to a cool Otaku with a job and a wife.
4. Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni
I saved the best for last. This is like a moe anime about a guy who just moved to a village to meet some girls who soon become really great friends. It's a very cute story about friendship and I would recommend it to anyone who wants something cute and lighthearted.
sis puella madoka is a really cute anime about magical girls that's not dark at all. you guys should watch that if you want a cute anime!!

higurashi seems better, just 'cause the characters seem a little more... sane?
I think a lot of anime of that style tend to fall into the trap of just coming up with absurd premises to make their characters more memorable, but in those shows, the characters start seeming a lot less human because of it. This can be especially annoying when they start rehashing old characters and events to fill time. Higurashi's a lot better about both of those things, imo.

it's just I heard it kills the drama a little. I guess that's why it's a lighthearted show though.
