OK So I completely lied about having my own list. I didn't make one.
Anyways, I actually took all the comments on this thread and assigned a number value for each placement (10 pts for 1st, 9 pts for 2nd, 8 pts for 3rd, etc.). Here are the current rankings based on the comments that were received on this thread.

Please see below for my opinion on ranking players in the lobby!!
Rob I love how you wasted everyone's time to push your own opinions and agendas on something that has been a part of the lobby since it's creation that everyone agrees on.
Also, I wanted to avoid the problem of artificially creating meta in this lobby.
If a group of well-known vets had gotten together and made a rankings list and were like, oh we think HighSpace is the best player in the lobby, I think that would really permeate through the lobby. Say we did this thread again 6 months later, I would probably expect HighSpace to start moving up in many people's rankings.
If you think a player is good or overrated/underrated, trust in your opinion
This list is probably a good indication of the current meta in the lobby.
Here are some general observations I've made about the current meta:
a) Trophy games (and winning them) do matter when ranking people b) Recent games are remembered more than games that have happened a long time ago (emmy, cosmoiswatching, kandy, VWXYZ, ryman sparsely on any lists despite good play in 2016) c) EMBB/EMVivor plays a fairly large role on the rankings d) Some players have a well-known reputation which allowed them to make lists despite people not playing with them or them not playing anymore

What I was trying to do was really make a statement about how stupid and unnecessary Top 10 lists are. As you can see, there is a wide range of players who people in this lobby consider good. Honestly, every player that was mentioned in a comment (and players who weren't mentioned) can do damage in any game and it's really hard to quantify how "good" a player is, much less rank them on how good their survivor gameplay is.
There are also many biases that come in play when trying to make a ranking list. For example, how do you compare somebody like emmy to someone like bryce1997 when they have never played a game together? How do you determine who played in 2017 and who played in 2016? Did people play enough to deserve to be on the list? How important are trophies? How important are ORGs? Do recent results appear to be more important and weighted heavier than results that happened in early 2016? Do you downgrade someone because they play with friends? Do you downgrade someone because they only can win small games or can only win non-trophy games?Ultimately, everyone has different criteria as to what "good" is. It doesn't really matter what my opinion is because it's just one opinion.
Moreover, a lot of people put me on their rankings when they never have actually seen me play. I feel like a lot of the time with these rankings, it's what you hear about a person rather than your actual experiences from playing with them. I also think that there is a lot of influence from seeing other people's lists. I believe that players who were placed high on early lists were also high on subsequent lists.
