But you cannot sit here and tell me that there aren't people that only got mod'd because of who they were friends with. You also cannot say that people don't get away with No Vio's because of who they are friends with.
Sadly no one will become a mod unless you're part of the inner circle. It's more political and less capability in becoming a mod. That's how you get these terrible mods that troll and are toxic people in general. (That does not apply to all mods as there are a few that are actually all around very great people that do their job well.) But let's face it, this site has the cliques that "do no wrong". And if you're a part of one of them you get modded or you never get Vio'd. Sad but true.
