whatcd introduced me to so much of the music i listen to now

my brother was the one who originally invited me, and we shared music together that nobody had ever heard of, that everyone loved...

whatcd also helped me start djing and guided my brother's band into a solid acoustic speaker setup, as well as introducing us to audio-technica and other magicians in the sound industry.

so many artists of little known fame have grown through that community, allowing actual career growth from nothing but a garage in a cul-de-sac to an international audience of music aficionados...

whatcd was a beacon of hope and the power of a true online community, and now that beacon has been snuffed
