I don't get what you mean by mock up lol. But maybe a bar at the bottom that shows all the people who posted in the thread and you can click one and it shows all their posts. also an (iso) button next to names on each post that does the same thing.

a post number on each post that's clickable could also be helpful if they wanna go back to a certain post.

That would ruin the traditional design we've had on our forums for many years. If you're gonna do this, make it so we can disable this feature.
