Not acknolwedging Brownpimp as one of the better players that have graced this site is... ridiclous. You may not like him but you have to give credit where credit is due.
That's fair, there's definite vet worship, but almost anyone and everyone will say that the quality and level of play used to be much higher. Is that possibly a function of the critic simply being better than they were when they were new? Yes, but it's undeniable that the way the game is played now is different than it was then.
It's hard to say who is the best player. Cause some players are better than others in certain situations. I think it should be done in subsections like
Best Scumhunter:
Best Townteller as town:
Best townteller as maf
Best hammerer in lylo:
etc..
If you're talking overall, I think soda does well at pretty much everything, and doesn't really have that much of a weakness in one particular area.

@renaldo yes i agree that it's good to talk about strategy and gameplay and that particular players will be brought up in the discussion but bringing particular players up should be used with the purpose of advancing our understanding of the game rather than circlejerk around people who've long left the site and no longer even think about it anymore.
i played a flash game on another site for quite a few years as a teenager and towards the end of its life cycle the only threads that were being posted in its forums were "top X players" and "hall of fame" lists and it was just an incredible amount of pointless cirlcejerking that ultimately killed all real forum activity.
@vilden no i don't have an elevated view of my own mafia skills, i might have come off like that occasionally but in reality i don't consider myself consistently better than any other player here
You and Cody do have quite similar playstyles, and you both think that because you type pseudo-intellectual hogwash that's often devoid of any actual substance that most players really don't take into consideration apart from just assuming you're town for trying so hard that you're amazing.
All I've really done in this thread is explain why I don't like 10p setups. The "best scum" was an offhand comment nestled in a larger point, free to be thrown out.
call it semi-trolling. my point is constantly winning trophies doesn't necessarily make you good because you can run on multiple accounts (like brown actually did tho i exaggerated). brown is good but he's not one of the best
