In general I enjoy indie pop/rock/poprock, folk (esp. with fiddles and/or raspy vocals!), synths, and new wave...hence the Tegan and Sara as they've done literally all of that!
if you like talking heads then lcd soundsystem will definitely be up your street. Sound Of Silver and This Is Happening are both wonderful albums - This Is Happening also takes a lot of cues from Bowie and Iggy.
Hilltop Hoods. They're white and do hip hop but if you're into chill beats and feel good lyrics then check them out. I love them and I just wanted to post about them somewhere.

just an update to show i tool these recommendations seriously--I'm currently at a Jessy Lanza gig in London!! Shows about to start :-)
I don't know, there aren't really recommendations people can give you for bands like Radiohead or Talking Heads. If there were more people who sounded like them people probably wouldn't listen to them
