They had to nl and decide on a vest test. Either cop gets a report since lawyer is dead, or bs test gives confirmed mafia. It was literally autowin.

TBH the correct play there was to NL day 2 because the sheriff was shot. Mafia could only hook the cop or else he gets a report. Then they have to find the BS the same night or else another town gets a vest. If they don't kill BS on the same night then there's an extra vest the next night. They can not hook BS because the cop had a vest anyway and hitting cop+hooking BS would give back an ML. The extra vest can lead to another ML because it was headed to a 4way
The cop can't stay alive without being hooked because his innos are clear.

you can have one BS claim vest the cop and the other BS claim vest the sheriff to confirm who the real BS is.
Cop already has a vest so they can't be sac'd
