I realized I've been working on this cruise ship for 3 months now and it's pretty much become normal to me despite being unlike anything I've experienced before.
So I thought it would be interesting to answer any questions anyone had about living and working 7 days a week on a cruise ship around the Carribean.
If I did however there are sensors on the edge of the ship to detect if anything goes overboard so to inform the bridge.
Though if you fell near the propelers you would be shredded and if you fell in the middle of a cloudy night nobody would be able to see you as its just a black abyss where you can't distinguish the sky or the horizen.
I'm one of three sound engineers on board, I maintain and run the aqua theatre which includes the main Aqua show oceanaria. It's mostly a matinence job so I spend most my time finding issues, diagnosing them and fixing them. I do get to mix bands from time to time though.
We have a crew laundry with like 30-40 washing machines and dryers, it's free as well. I usually put in my washing between shows so I'm not wasting time waiting for it. Lol
Dazel here posting from Arcbell's account: we do laundry by soaking our dirty clothes in the salty sea below us. Salt acts as a natural laundry detergent and keeps our clothes smelling spiffy.
The majority of the women on board the ship are customer service, resturants and hotel workers so the majority of them are women over the age of 40 working to feed their families back home. In the entertainment divison however we have the acrobatic cast, the dreamworks cast, the ice cast, the diver cast and the mamma mia cast. All of those casts have girls between the ages of 18-30 and are pretty attractive due to the roles they are in.
There are a LOT of attractive guests each week but guests are a no go zone, you can get fired and go to jail for sleeping with a guest. ._.
omg so if ur living on a cruise ship how do you get stuff sent to u? whats ur mailing address
I get stuff sent to head office with my name, job number, position and ship. It then gets redirected to my home port and is ready for me at the back of the theater when it arrives. :)
