Pranay Forum Mafia

I'm introducing a new variant of mafia. It's called Pranay Mafia. The entire game, start to finish, happens in only one day, with no night phases.

Here's how it works:

  • Instead of lynching, each town sided player has one chance to guess who all of the mafia are. If they are off by even one person, they die. If they are right, town wins. As usual, once the mafia overtakes the town, they win.
  • In addition, many players will get power roles. I will list all possible power roles below. All powers will happen during the day. It is possible to have more than one power role.

To use your guess, type in bold:

hammer: player1, player2, player3, player4, player5 ..

Slight variants of this format are also accepted. The town will know at the start of the game how many mafia there are in the game.

Game starts in 24 hours from the time I post this thread. Signup if you want to play.

Update: There will be a time limiting factor that slowly tilts the game in the mafia's favor if the town fails to act for a long period of time. I will announce what this is once it is triggered. Hopefully we won't need it.

i've devised a strategy that will result in a likely town win. according to the list of players on the right, we will do the following:

player x guesses players x+1 to x+5

player x will either win, die, or not die

if the game is not won then we win

if the player does not die they are confirmed mafia and will be included in the subsequent lists, to replace player x+5 for example

if the player dies then x is increased and the previously x+1 player will take their guess

anyone deviating from this plan is likely mafia and should be included in all lists

i believe that unless the mafia are all grouped at the bottom of the list which i think is unlikely then the town will win

no fun allowed
I expect this to have a less than 50% win rate, since if #maf = #town maf wins. If there's even 1 maf in the bottom 5, it's probably not gonna win.

on a serious note i rolled mastermind so i'd like to be the first to use an attempt. i'll try to do it in the first 12 or 24 hours so that town has something to work with. please don't come in here and yolo it
