cheating in video games

so i dont want to play a game with a cheater because honestly what's the point i can just tell the game that i won how is that even a game

but here's the thing: people who don't understand hacking or know how to hack tend to tell me what cheating is.

let's say there's a game with premium content. disgusting, right? so i unlock that content. no, i didn't give it to myself, i didn't skip progression, i simply unlocked content that you could unlock by paying real life money. the only difference is i didn't pay real life money.

is it cheating? and if you're having trouble with generalities, to be more specific: is unlocking paid content the same as giving yourself items that have to be earned by playing the game?

i don't know how any of this works but my opinion is

Quite a lot of people call this cheating. I'm against pay to play or play to win games so I simply avoid them. I have better things to do like online mafia

and to clarify unlocking paid content is not the same as giving yourself paid content; e.g. just because you own an expansion pack doesn't mean you automatically completed it
