neuroscience too is one shtty field imo. at least as it is. each of them forgets that the mind is the oldest subject there is, and just goes off and spouts a bunch of new age bullsht in utter contradiction to all that has come before it

ireland is pretty good. i'm studying math myself. did a module of psychology and it was the only one i failed because i didn't do some bakesale which was worth 50% then didn't bother trying after that so i have to repeat that in august lol. otherwise i think psychology is underrated tho

i think evolutionary psychology is snake oil lol. i think u can derive the so-called tribal instinct from just intelligence. i actually have a p good argument for the tabula rasa from evolution i think, though it gets a bit long-winded. basically tho it's that the mind needs to have evolved fairly independently of the body otherwise evolution becomes unfeasible. that is, congruent evolution of mind and body for every trait literally kills the possibility of a random mutation finding fitness. so it's mostly learning. but i mean i'd allow for like opposable thumbs paving the way for greater intelligence, giving it a home sort of, so there'd be a little back and forth...and maaaybe tribal instincts find a home there, but i still don't think so. i think instincts are just way too complicated to be actual things so far as higher lifeforms are concerned tbh. learning + intelligence seems more than adequate, and then to explain a bunch of other things too like religion etc. but then maybe that's all just nonsense lol. i think psych is underrated tho personally
psychs cool i enjoy it i think its overrated as a whole but certain fields are underrated like evolutionary psych where the whole in groups and out groups stem from. safety in numbers as a means of survival kinda thing when it was eat or be eaten
