Again, I think it's more about tone than content. If the person seems like someone who would give very little or very much content as mafia/town, then fine, use that as a reason, but I don't particularly think amount is inherently a scumtell or towntell by itself.
I think by talking you can get more reads and I tr people who are talking and trying to give and get reads over those that aren't participating which are usually maf or prs in the games I've played
I agree with the second paragraph but any intelligent mafia player or anyone who knows the current meta should know better than to speak up too obviously unnecessarily, and it's really not hard to seem like one doesn't care; also, town isn't necessarily paying any attention whatsoever to that prerogative.
Yeah. It's stupid site meta that noobs misconstrue and overestimate. People forget to factor in personality.
I think it's sometimes true that being excessively hasty to explain yourself or talk about mechanics/say protown things all game CAN be scummy, though.
because "town has the moral prerogative to be quiet and just speak up when necessary" and "mafia are the ones who have to try to blend in to town and it takes effort to do that so anyone who's trying really hard to look like town must be mafia"
it's a first order read at best that doesn't mean much until you take into account the content, tone, and behavior of someone who's "talking a lot" into your read on him. someone who simply scumreads anyone who is showing genuine effort isn't going to get as far in mafia as someone who takes more factors into account.
i mean i understand how nervous spam could be a scumtell but even then it's more about tone than volume and it annoys the crap out of me when i get tunneled by 1 townie thru lylo because I'm "leading town" or "talking too much." (I'm usually town when that happens because, statistically, I flip town more often than i flip mafia. Try again...)
