Summer Tournament

I feel like, this summer, we should have an EM Tournament. I would be willing to cohost this with someone. The idea is that there are multiple 8 player games played during the summer. Everyone who comes in First, Second, Third or Fourth in their games will move on to the next round. Sadly, I have no money to give tokens to the winners, but its the thought that counts, right? Anyway, if you want to play, sign the petition and bump the thread.

EDIT: BobbySmith had a great point about the flaws of this tournament. To ensure that there are no pregame alliances, all entrants will be randomly put into 8 player games, from which the winners will move on to the final game. Everyone who loses will be put into random 7 player games, and the winners of those games will move on to round 2. The winners of the games in round 2 will move on to the final game. Then, the jury and winners of each game will select a nominee from their respective game, that should have won. (They will not be allowed to vote for themselves) All of the nominees will face off in a game, and the winner will move on to the final round. Whomever wins the final round wins the tournament.

The problem I see happening with this part is the jurors will just vote for themselves,

in an 8 player game, jury is at f5 maybe? It's pretty obvious that the jury won't vote 6th 7th 8th because they weren't even close.

This leaves the jury of places 5th 4th and 3rd voting between
places 5th 4th 3rd and 2nd for the title of Sole "almost" Survivor.

Nobody will agree that 2nd place "should have won" because if they believed that then he would be 1st correct?

Essentially the jurors will be voting for "Which juror should have won but didn't?" Naturally since the jurors want to move on the next round they will vote for themselves.
All you would have to do is say you can't vote for yourself...

hey I'm not exactly sure how you're doing this but I think it'd be cool if you had some sort of "fan favorite" thing for either the second round or the final round. basically, you could have everyone vote their fan favorite, who is then implemented back into the game, or you can have people vote per game and make a poll of each of the game's favorites

idk I think something like that might be cool especially if you need one more spot to be filled

Basically they wouldn't be allowed the vote for themselves... and remember, 1st and 2nd get a vote too.
