are you saying bernie still has a chance to come back? or that trump will be dethroned?
deleteddeletedover 10 years ago
Those are NOT the nominations. The nominations are not complete. The only reason these two have gotten so far is because people have ASSUMED them winners. I'm sick of that. I'm waiting till the nominations are complete.

what do you want? an autocracy?
deleteddeletedover 10 years ago
What the hell? If it's trump vs Hillary I may as well not vote at all. This is ridiculous. I'm not playing to this fantasy. I refuse to believe they will be the nominees.

Rutab was one of the most ubiquitous posters in this thread until his guy (Marco Rubio) failed to win the state in which he is a sitting senator and dropped out with his tail between his legs.

I just hear words "break up the big banks" and go.

no where in those words did anyone clarify how! that's why I literally ask "does that mean a rule..."

so excuuuuuuse me

Also, what banks failed or were close to failing in 2008, lehman brothers, merill lynch? are those commercial or have a commercial arm? nope? okay....wait, so what's the problem then?

Im pretty sure you dont realize what breaking up the banks mean when you make arguments like these:
Germatron
also, while I admit the banks may be too big (may in italics)

The idea of the government breaking up a company is a slippery road.

Also, does that mean a rule would need to be put into place saying "once a bank gets X big, we break it up!"

How do you quantify X? But the bigger issue is how will the banks that are

i've always heard and said it as "la zay"
Maybe you think I'm a bigot because my sense of humor is too tongue-in-cheek for you. Maybe that's it.
if bigot is now the word for different then yes

you don't diversify industries, you diversify a portfolio
yes, but edarks arguemnt for breaking up the big banks is diversifying...so, I guess he thinks you do
Separation between investment banking and retail banking is what "breaking up" the banks means
