I prefer the theory that it is based in Hawaii! With its code name originally being project Rainbow and a few other things that I saw.

I think it would be great! Plus Hawaii has great legends for sun and moon gods as well.

I'm down for that. All that water would be lots of surfing though.

A theory was released that Sun and Moon might be based on Japan again, due to the surge of popularity of Yokai Watch, so much that in Japan, Yokai Watch completely overshadows Pokemon currently. So the theory is that they're going to make the game have more references to Japan to help support domestic growth, and the titles of the games lend a bit of credibility to that too, as the myths of Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi aren't exactly obscure. As I'm sure most of you know, Amaterasu was the sun goddess, and Tsukuyomi was the moon god of Shinto mythology.

I honestly doubt it. The fact that the two pokemon were completely forgettable will probably mean it won't be related.

The pinnacle of their fame was being the last pokemon sent out by Tate and Liza in Hoenn. That's about it.
