You shouldn't let plots and genres scare you off or dissuade you from movies, there's a ton of amazing movies that upon first glance won't look that interesting or captivating

yeah, whiplash is one I've been wanting to get around to watching actually. the plot itself doesn't overly interest me which is the only reason I haven't done so already
