this isnt a complaint and it is epicmafia related (words we can and can't use ingame)

seeing as though i just got perma banned for using the phrase "mentally challenged" as an insult, can you mods create an official list of words/phrases that are HC?

also mods should not be allowed to self-moderate HC reports anymore because that's stupid. if one mod is offended by something they just auto-HC it when it's not even HC

i hide behind lucid wang when it comes to the zero tolerance policy but calling someone mentally challenged is totally HC for someone who has two vios and a "last warning" note so yeah.

Like why are multiple threads and literally hundreds of paragraphs of explanation needed, just make a list of the bad words/phrases that are HC, get everyone on the mod team including lucid to agree to it, and use it to mod HC

(hint: it's called consistency)

My personal position is that he did not knowingly break the rule, but that this is irrelevant to him getting the vio.

Obviously if he thought he was going to get a forum ban, he wouldn't have done it.

Zovea, it's in the rules now.

What I'm saying is that a user who *intends* to use a *slur* will be given a hateful comments vio. If that user changes their behavior to simply not use a slur, and not to convey the same slur simply in different words, they will not get the vio. It's simple, don't use hateful speech; changing behavior to abide by the rule will only entail not using slur substitutes, and the guiding principle of intent and reasonable expectation checks against the overextension that some have hyperbolized w/r/t examples like "idiot" could be HC.

Conversely, if a user unintentionally uses a phrase that could be interpreted as a slur but does not *intend*/reasonably expect for it to be interpreted as a slur, they will not get a vio.

My opinion right now is that HC is currently generally grossly overmoderated for no (good) reason

I don't think cutting someone down by comparing them to the mentally handicapped is quite on the same level as calling someone a na.zi, I was just sharing some nostalgia for that time vilden went through 3 days of sandbox wall lobby comments to find this.
So when I use the r-word to insult someone's intelligence, I'm cutting them down. But comparing people to the party that enslaved Europe in a similar fashion to your policing of this forums is acceptable because?

You're using the r-word to compare someone to a group of people based on personal circumstances and implying that being compared to those people is insulting. That's why it's not okay. Calling someone a National Socialist isn't relating them to & insulting a group of people based on personal circumstance. Nor is damning God,

But warning him is too much, as is enforcing the rule equally for all members i.e. the reason this issue isn't going to die down.

It's almost as if I'm implying someone, perhaps even the OP, is a hypocrite.
Or he exploited a rule that vindictive and petty, then broke said rule when he saw it wasn't being enforced, but lets keep detracting from the fact that the mods are wrong in all this.
