Suggestion: Fancy Pants only lobby

Hey all, I had a serious discussion with moon about setups, the site meta, and how to make comp more appealing. Why not make a separate fancy pants only lobby so new players aren't introduced to a setup that, may be fun but promote theworst behaviours for learning competitve play?

Guns and Hookers is an excellent red heart setup, and more setups like those (BASIC SCUM HUNT) should be played.

To those players who only play Fancy Pants, the Fancy Pants only lobby will still fill, and everyone will still be happy.

Good idea, y/n?

You can't fix FP so stop trying.

The only thing this could potentially achieve is the alienation of new players away from comp.
How are new players alienated if the first setups they play on the site are Classic/G&H/Basic Scumhunt/FT3?

FP Exclusive players will still fill games continuously and the split will ensure all new players from here on out will learn how to play mafia. NO other beginner setup teaches all the wrong things to do in mafia, aside from FP.

If they want casual games, Sandbox is always available. Fancy Pants Lobby will placate the FP exclusive playerbase and ensure newer players do not learn from the inherently flawed FP.

Loreli, we want those FP players in comp so they learn. The people who play FP exclusively are not hurt by them having their own lobby. Comp players benefit as more people learn how to play mafia. New players benefit because they learn on any other setup that is not fancy pants. It's a win-win for everyone involved.

Why don't we make a separate lobby for each setup
i think that it would make more sense to just have one lobby for competitive setups, and then another for more casual play
We could call it Competitive and Training. lol

That's the thing Escurai, most players who play Fancy Pants exclusively have no plans of playing comp anyway. Having a separate FP lobby ensures people who enjoy Fancy Pants do not get upset, while allowing for better beginner setups to fill to better prepare new players for comp mafia play.
You seem to think your set ups aren't filling because fancy pants games make the table too confusing to pick out set ups other people like?

If you're not ready to do a little searching task like that, you probably belong in fancy pants lol
That's not it, I'm saying other setups get bumped down too quickly because too many tables with fancy pants pop up.

The reason our comp games are good is because the fancy pants players are playing fancy pants instead of our comp games.

If we get rid of fancy pants they'll be playing comp instead.
Not if you raise the cap for players joining from 1500 to at least 5000. But i am all in for 10 000 or 20 000

Alternatively, ask lucid to code the Main Lobby Interface to be able to fit more games onto the first page so any non-FP setups don't get bumped off after 5 minutes during peak playing time.
Actually it is good to remake after you are down by 6-7 setups so this idea is stupid.

Fancy Pants is like an apex predator. It needs to be put in its own cage so other setups in the epicmafia.com ecosystem can flourish and prosper.
