I am in the mood of giving and want to have a Santa themed Round 374 since it falls on the week of presents and all things amazing.
The setup must be deemed balanced after 50-100 plays. Historically,
it would be 200 plays, but we don't have the time.
1 entry per account, NO ALTS
A moderator or admin can deem your setup unplayable for comp and not let it be tested. It is what it is, fam.
Depending on when the current round ends, moderator staff will remove setups that have not been played or are testing poorly.
You have permission to post links to ranked setups in the current Round thread so long as it is not spamming.
You can ask any moderator to make your setup ranked so the testing may begin.
Please post your links to your setups IN THIS THREAD with a blurb about why you think it is balanced and fit for comp. If you do not post it in this thread, it will not be recognized as a valid entry.
DOs
MUST include Santa and have 7-10 players
MUST include a Strategy for town and mafia with your setup
Play your setup unranked before you contact a moderator to have it ranked.
Promote your setup as you wish in order to get the plays in to test the setup. I encourage posting to the Main Lobby wall or contacting a moderator to have it promoted as a Featured Setup.
DON'Ts
Include any 3rd party roles
Utilize roles or role combinations that can be deemed gamebreaking
Waste our time and post setups that you know are not balanced
Prizes
1st: Santa setup will be comped, 20 tokens, custom Main Lobby emote
2nd: 10 tokens, custom Main Lobby emote
3rd: A sticker of your choice
Disclaimer: Jeff and I have to approve your custom emote when you win. Sorry.
um hi sorry for posting so much but i've written out a main guide to my setup which will help players know how it is played. also this is my official entry, the other one with the gramps role i've decided to give up on. i think this is a tiny bit mafsided but because i know the level of players in comp is soooo good im sure this'll be 50-49.
town ended up winning quite easily, we followed this strat:
the person with the item on d1 outed (the item was a gun) he chose to nl his gun and nl for the day. next day santa claimed (i was santa) i had 2 nice reports, i vested the person i gunned d1 so he doesn't die. mafia was supposed to cc santa but it was too late for that, they were a noob team.
they actually killed their traitor but that's not a huge issue, turncoats are practically substitute traitors. the shot worked out well as the kill turned out to be lookout, we only had nilla to lynch. we ended up lynching turncoat d2, i thought i was gonna die(im santa) obviously because i claimed, but mafia chose to target another person, not even the person who i had a nice report on, but a completely different person who turned out to be turncoat, when mafia hit turncoat it looks like a save.
i got a naughty report and we shot him and won, but this wasn't a good example of what'd happen in a legit game. i already know most of the scenarios possible with this setup though, so it's not a big deal. i already know it's balanced, very balanced actually.
trying to make setups to appeal to the newer players is hard. mine has 2 guns and bomb and a santa it's still hard to fill
honestly santa can just gt by giving a bad item or by doing something that is clearly putting town into a big disadvantage after even being told and it won't be considered gt which is the problem with serious santa setups
then again, "serious santa setups".

hi froce
actually it doesn't really have a lot of possibilities. the reason i said it because of Santa and the present (gun, bread, crystal, vest). people should have common sense like if they're town and they got a vest or crystal on D1, they shouldn't out it at all and hope mafia hit them during N2.
If the person is gunned then they should out it but i already made a strat, stating that santa should only give crystal or vest. but obv people aren't gonna follow my strat suggestion 100%
i think my strats are fine and i pretty much wrote everything that players SHOULD know & follow
so after making and testing diff versions of this setup like more than 5 times, i finally decided to submit this setup for this contest and it's called "the ruins of christmas" it's really fun and mindfuck
there's a lot of possibilities in this setup. it requires town to have really good scumhunting skills for like 3/4 ways. mafia have to be smart with how they're going to cc PR. if they're too reckless, they wont do well and probably lose. the same w/ town and that's why this is definitely a balanced setup and is perfect for comp
p.s. merry xmas every1 pce
if you do say it's got a lot of possibilities, why are the strats so brief? i mean, with a setup that has LOTS of different possibilities i'd expect at least a guide of two parts for mafia and likewise for town.

It is playable as it is fun and both alignments have the potential to win.
These roles open up possibilities and allow for an exciting game.
The point of playing an online game is to have fun right? This is playable.
Not to mention the fact that the whole point of this Christmas Santa themed round is to have a bit of fun.
Any argument that certain roles are not comp worthy is null since the whole point of this is to allow Santa, which is a role that is usually banned from comp.
you basically made sitd and party in one setup
You are showing some serious disrespect for the creator of GVF which my setup is based on.
uhhh does making a setup suddenly warrant respect lmao
