i didn't get a chance to go on further, but mod elections are a bad idea because they encourage the idea that moderators speak for users and should speak for a constituency. and this is completely false. you don't vote for cops. you want cops that are going to do their job and do it well, not represent the majority. this applies for moderators but obviously to a less severe and important degree. moderators can represent various lobbies and different kinds of epicmafia experiences, but that should not be a determining factor in moderatorship of someone. popularity should not matter when modding someone. if someone is unpopular by itself, that should not matter. popularity should be a symptom, not a cause.

and i'm going to expound further on the "making moderating a reward" thing. you are literally making moderation a prize at the end of a maze rather than giving a realistic glimpse of what it should be. you're painting a false picture for users who could consider modding. you'll attract people who want attention, validation, and instant gratification vs. people who want to help the site, suggest new ideas, and improve things. finally, and most importantly, users know jack about modding. you're going to get people who know barebones about epicmafia.com and its history who vote on who should be mod. they could very easily vote for friends and abc in disguise. you have no rubric to stop people from making uneducated votes. compare this to the old system, which mostly works (every now and again it doesn't but so far it's been on a good streak) because it functions on people who have an at least semi-good (at worst) to great understanding of the site and its users' history.

mod elections are a bad idea. lucid, i am trying to be as civil as possible about this. i sincerely believe that mod elections will cause bad mods to be modded and create more issues. i know you believe mod inactivity is a problem, but this is not a solution to that.

Pranay you should stop accusing every user of being a banned user. I remember when I first joined everyone called me abc and the mods would believe what the crowd says then banned some of my accounts for being abc. I feel you gerryoat

someday i should just go back to comp and play every single game with a random epicmafia famous runner and be semi-successful as they are extremely successful just to get everyone all suspicious and to laugh at the chaos that ensues

this day is gonna be when i really have nothing at all happening but it'll come i'm sure
