tonsil stones??

Katieabout 11 years ago

does anybody else get these??

i thought i had food stuck in the back of my throat but i'm 96% sure it's actually tonsil stones but they're refusing to come out, i've tried literally everything that the internet has to offer thus far (including trying to dislodge them using actual objects but i'm not doing that anymore because even when suppressed my gag reflex is super strong)

help pls

I always thought the other option was a squirt gun of water pointed at them to flush them out.

Like those syringes dentists give you to keep your gums clean after a tooth is extracted.

i googled it and apparently a lot of people get them without even realizing and swallow them in their sleep :-)))

Aren't you English? Only Americans ask for medical advice online. Go utilise the NHS.

Working on your gag reflex is a win/win, as opposed to just removing your tonsils

If she's tried with objects I imagine she's tried with her tongue already.....

It might not be tonsil stones. I thought I had them too, but it turned out to be tonsillitis mixed with strep throat. Go see your pcp.

OH in all seriousness I think I get these all the time. I just didn't know what you were referring to. I do what ScubaSteve said. I just dig em' out and spit them. It's usually pretty easy for me and I've never had any issues with them.

[3:00:44 PM] scubasteve: I used to get these. Solution: brush your teeth three times a day, mouthwash twice, floss daily.
[3:01:01 PM] scubasteve: to get rid of them, I would just dig them out with my tongue and spit 'em out in the sink.
[3:01:13 PM] scubasteve: otherwise she's just better off asking her doc to remove her tonsils entirely.

If you remove your throat you won't feel pain there anymore!
