i can confirm that diabolik is uncool. however, he was fun to play with. his uncool was so overwhelming that it caused a rising tide of uncool that lifted all boats.

You shouldn't say "scummy" because it's an excuse not to elaborate. In 100% of cases the person saying "scummy" follows it up with more excuses that do nothing to convince people to agree with them.
