oh sorry i totally forgot that i never actually responded to this

anyway forgive my trepidation here but i seem to recall the last time we had a similar conversation about olive branches you just repeatedly lied to my face. which, by the way, is the only reason i put you on blast for months. i didn't care about the erica thing; i'm not the type to get jealous or threatened and the biggest headache it really caused for me was having to explain why i didn't care at all that someone was interested in her, because she was nuts and couldn't rationalize someone else being secure. but yeah, i tend to get a little upset when someone lies to my face, especially when i give that same person my word about something and don't break it, even when it's in my best interest to. i'm an incredibly forthright person and i don't particularly like deceit.

anyway, all that said, the hatchet's been buried for me for a while. you wronged me, i got you back for it in spades, and as far as i'm concerned the matter was settled at that point. i mean, if you're still the same person you were back then then something will end up ripping that bandaid off eventually, but the optimist in me would like to believe you've grown out of being someone who treats trying to manipulate people like some shining badge of honor. i'm not really sure why you needed some sort of confirmation that i wasn't going for the jugular anymore, since i'm me and it's pretty clear that if i wanted to i would've already done it, but i guess this suffices. i don't trust you but i'm not above believing people can redeem themselves.

of course, i'm sure you'll find a new reason to hate me again sooner rather than later, but in the meantime i'm fine with playing nice.
