in all honesty my name is peach and I'm Asking For A Friend but how do u avoid an addiction to a nasty narcotic when u see it in its budding stages? does anyone have experience with this .. i am just a young lad trying to make ends meet in the big city; please help
I guess if your friend is using said narcotic to relieve stress then an alternative to that would be to reduce the workload. It's not easy to go from 0 - 100 in a matter of hours so i'd suggest taking baby steps to reduce the amount they consume gradually to the point where it their condition wouldn't be called an addiction.
well narcotics are tough to stop once usage increases over a certain dose. distractions, or hobbies are a good way to help stop. after a week or so, they should be over the hump, but the craving will never really go away so if they have narcotics readily available, they will (possibly) start doing them again.
the idea is to replace one addiction with another, "healthy" addiction (i.e. hobbies).
alternatively they can take an earth shattering amount of LSD and undergo an ego death and that will be the end of that.
