De-Comp YYC

deleteddeletedover 11 years ago

De-Comp this stupid setup and blacklist it from future competition. If someone playing B2NS, Andrea or TEO has their trophy robbed by someone playing YYC then that's just absurd. The fact that YYC already has 27 plays, whilst the others are getting nowhere near as many plays, goes to show what sort of state the website is in right now, at least regarding competitive mafia.

Just think. All of this would be a nonissue if someone just comped Feels Good Man...

Those party setups with santa and voodoo that people used to circle jerk in are all better than YYC

sweet dreams isn't a bad setup at all so long as ur careful of the mechanics of it
Sweet Dreams can actually result in N1 auto, though you could just offer a policy refund for that as a counter measure.
ya i guess it can. odds are probs pretty damn slim tho

GAI is better than YYC

All meteors are gai, IMO.

I agreed with everything until you started spewing nonsense about "the state of the website" because that's a really big leap from "what a bad setup"
That's pretty ignorant, Rutab. Before the lobby merge, YYC would never have accumulated more plays than any of the other setups listed.
Ok? Setups that are being played and are bad don't have any correlation to the state of the site because opinions change. Some people like certain setups more than others. YYC, imo, is very fun. Should it be comped? No, but that doesn't mean that anyone who likes it is wrong. "The state of the site" was thrown very loosely.
Dude just shut up. The OP clearly states that I was referring to the website regarding competitive play. You're talking about the community.

Refunds shouldn't be given for flawed setups.

Hence why GAI meteors don't get refunds.

He's saying the state of the site at the moment, the average player sucks at scum hunting and having common sense so they'd rather be in a setup with a gun and a bunch of stupid roles for example fiddler.

It's quite difficult to please everyone though, especially when you want to ward off stagnation. Obviously if the setup pool narrows down more and more then every other round is going to be VDLI, BV or Janitorial 2.0, as it has been in the past.

Ayyy Invasion in 7th place round 112
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
TEO's great if you play it the old way, but Giga managed to shift the setup meta and make it ridiculously townsided as well.
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
i mean, that's a long way to go but the least we could do is start with getting rid of a setup that's buried below 50 ft of shxt.
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
Frontier Justice was the one I was thinking of, yes.

Sweet Dreams and Hollywood Illusions are others of that breed.
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
Manhunt is ancient, it's not the one I'm thinking of.

https://epicmafia.com/round/112 was quite some way before the merge (and before custom lobby rounds, even).

Also after 1 game of sds I realized how much it actually sucks. So really the only setup comp-worthy at the moment is TEO (With the right lobby) and B2NS

Agreed, Harry. I think all of these are fine to throw away your red hearts on, but I don't think they're at all comp viable.
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
both of Jazz's setups suck like big time I don't think Andrea is a town sided setup like Lashka said, but I do think it's a bad setup lol
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
Frontier Justice is abysmal. Sweet Dreams, I agree, shouldn't be comped, but I really enjoy playing it because it's a good game to have a chat in.

That's untrue, YYC and the other awful similar one had both become "big" setups pre-merge.

Andrea and YYC are both trash, though.
Agreed. Also Sweet Dreams. Also Frontier Justice.

But my opinion is far from being the only one that matters, so yeah. Have at it, everyone.

Steve, there literally shouldn't be one moderator who thinks that YYC is a comp worthy setup.

Just to prove this, I said I wasn't gonna play YYC at all however I'm joining every game tomorrow and pretending to be fiddled so I don't need to play and I'll play it off as strategy.
deleteddeletedover 11 years ago
It must have been quite close to the merge then, because I can't remember any competition that saw setups similar to YYC succeed. I do agree about Andrea being trash, but it requires a lot more scumhunting than YYC. Was the other one Manhunt? Not sure how the hell that one made it in to competitive play either.
