people are really bad at fundamental understanding of terminology now. like no one knows what "buddying" is, what "FOSing" is, etc. it's actually alarming.
this has really always been true, people just sort of pick up on terms because they're in the popular vernacular but don't get a real understanding of them so misuse of the terms spreads
