i have 6 golds, 4 silvers, and bronze i dont remember how many. these are the official ones. 7 other gold trophies that were not given to me because of the vio that should not have been there.

Sandbox is where you can experiment with all the roles and all the setups and try all your weird strategies without being accused of throwing or pointfarming. Once you learn everything there, and know all the mechanics then you graduate to main lobby where you can play the allowed roles and setups to win a trophy like i do every time
Hey now, main lobby is supposed to be fun too. Let's not forget that...
What it really comes down to is what setups you like. Notably, the main lobby features Ranked and Competitive play, but there's also plenty of unranked games in the main lobby which have setups that vary in terms of seriousness.

Main lobby consists of ranked games. Sanbox lobby consists of unranked games. There is a competition in Main lobby where you can try to beat out others and win a trophy. In Sanbox, it's more laid back and you can basically chill out with a casual game. In game rules are only enforced in Main lobby, and community violations are enforced in both (like harassment and hateful comments).

Main lobby is for mafia sandbox is for chilling out and having fun. If you want to take things kind of seriously, be in main. If you just want to have fun go to sandbox
