I am a grown man who just had my feelings hurt. I am 24 years old, I have a house, a job, a car and a beautiful fiancé. I also have the need to be validated by teenagers on the internet. I have played mafia on this site off and on for years and I still love it. I love the game itself and I begrudgingly enjoy the community as well. On this site I have two simple dreams. The first and least important to me of the two, is to win a trophy. I came close once but got discouraged towards the end and completely gave up after some personal things (like getting engaged) fully required my attention. My second dream, is to create a setup that will become embraced by the comp scene.

Now, I'm an adult, and I am capable of separating the truth from my ego as much as anyone else. If I create a bad setup that isn't worthy, I can accept that. After some plays and it just isn't balancing, well, I'll take a few shots of whiskey, cry myself to sleep and start again in the morning. It is completely acceptable to me that I am capable of failing. I have failed many times, with each failed setup haunting my memory like a scorned ex-lover.

There is one thing I will not accept when it comes to this process however: to completely dismiss a setup I have made as "trash" without even playing it first. Whatever the reason is, whether it includes a role you do not like, gameplay mechanics that are foreign to you, or anything else. To completely deny the possibility of success is unacceptable to me. If you hate the setup for whatever reason, that is fine. It hurts, I'm a sensitive guy, but I can take it.

My dream is deceptively simple; to create a setup involving roles that aren't typically used in most comp setups. It's a hard nut to crack, and its even harder to determine why. Most unused roles aren't bad, they were suggested and created for a reason. It is easier for players to remain in the comfort zone of standby classics like Janitorial 2.0 and VDLI, just as red heart players stay in their comfort zone of Fancy Pants and Coco's Epic Setup.

Ultimately, your opinions mean nothing, but everything to me. I am a shameless narcissist and would obviously enjoy the positive feedback I desire for the setups I create, but all that I truly want, is a fair trial.
