why isn't there rounds where its all third party-based? that way the points balance out, and things like A&D become the setup to get 4th place on. third parties can be competitive.

1. that would be goddamn atrocious

2. 3rd parties are often able to have a controlling say in who wins the game which makes for an unfair competition because people on EM are jerks

SK vs Mafia is a good example of a comp worthy setup. It's pretty vanilla. Third parties are a bit OP but they're also at a severe disadvantage because you can only think for yourself, you have no partners at all. Of course some people will take solo wins if its killer but it's competitive(like you said) and people will go after more points. But it's been allowed plenty of times before. It's just that comping ONE third party setup will be discouraged because of people only being able to run on it(just like A&D) so instead of doing that, having a third party round would be easier.
