Exactly. I support this. Moderators should decide if the asks are inappropriate/harassing before being able to reveal the asker and violating them.

if it's not really anonymous i don't see the point of anonymous questions

honestly between anonymous questions and throwaway accounts, i think a name attached would make harassment more frustrating than someone you know is just a coward

anon is anon for a reason. giving mods/admin the ability to see the anon's user is compromising the entire thing.

instead of allowing the mods/admin to see all users behind anon questions, why not have a "report this question" link which if clicked, allows mods/admins to see the user behind the anon question?

Giving mods/admins the ability to see the users behind ALL anon questions creates a possibility for friends of the mods to get information from their friends and out the identities of users behind all anon questions.

I don't get the point of having anonymous asks if mods/admins can see them. Unless the mods/admins are sworn to never reveal who the anonymous person is - rules broken or not, and especially to the person asked. Although that would never work, since mods like to go out of their way to reveal secret alts and such.

Just turn anonymous off.

Or, turn asks off period because it's a stupid feature and this isn't tumblr.
