Right now the mod team is discussing spamming as a vio and we're considering condensing it into one vio. This means that spamming in unranked games will now be a community vio and thus against the rules, contrary to how it is currently moderated. It would also be moderated in sandbox, which it currently isn't.

Right now, we just want to get a consensus of how the site feels about this. Do you think spamming should be moderated in unranked + sandbox?

fun fact: back before I got this computer, votespam used to crash chrome. it froze up and wouldn't do anything unless I restarted it.

two, three votes is fine. two to three hundred? not so much.

at least chat spam has, y'know, a legitimate restriction on it

i don't want to toggle vote logs every time someone decides to spam unlimited votes and also break the names list so i can't even vote myself

I'll vote no for how the mod team currently has it, but if you're moderating text spam only, then most definitely yes.

Moderate text spam but not vote spam because vote spam is not seen by everyone, you the person have to turn on your voting logs and can turn them off at will, thus ceasing the spamming. Now copy/pasting/macroing the same thing over and over again would be more spamming. reh.

And the mod team does include kino and himapapaftw and Moocow, so yes, there are mods who understand how sandbox works and hopefully are a pivotal part of this discussion.

to an extent spamming is just a part of sandbox, but people who don't let up really need to go. then again, if you give mods an inch they'll take a mile and posting the same thing two times will result in siteban

i have seen around in sandbox everyone that voted/commented except for slow, donotkillme, gomez and lashka so that post is jut dumb.

this is for spamming with no reason or spamming used simply to antagonize people or troll in games

They should move day meetings and the pick players meeting to lycnch on top and also do this with the party meeting, because vote spammers won't be able to troll...

I would quote except my browser is derping - but vote spamming makes my margins cry and a fix would be nice. Also I think spamming as in spamming the same thing over and over should be moderated.

While it's true that we have a timeout feature in-game, it's only for twenty seconds - and we've all been in games where the player just waits for the twenty seconds to end and then continues spamming. wash repeat rinse.

vote spamming almost always prevents players from being able to click on a name because the box is always moving
