Can a non-member support a group?

Riddleralmost 12 years ago

If you are straight, can you support LGBT causes?

If you are white, can you support non-white causes?

If you are male, can you support female causes?

If you are of one religion or non-religion, can you support other religious causes?

Australia helps other countries. What's the matter with doing that? We help raise money for breast cancer.

Prime example on this forum would be a person who appropriates the symbols, terms, and culture of another group not realizing that they have no right to it, and have no position trying to reclaim something that was never theirs in the first place.

Why would you be white if you're gonna support non-white causes?
deleteddeletedalmost 12 years ago
Yeh, but usually allies do it wrong by making it about themselves instead of respecting the group they "support."

No, however you can be neutral like me and several other mafias are. I'd like to redirect you to this topic to see my stance on neutralism, it is my way of life and I would feel neutral if you decided to join me.

absolutely. there are organizations specifically for non-members. For example, I am a member of of the "I love Men" movement even though I am a lesbian.

In all seriousness, though, yes. You absolutely can, and there actually are organizations for that specific purpose, such as the Gay-Straight Alliance.
Apuleioalmost 12 years ago
Yeah, you can. Also if that group fights for not being discriminated, or for getting basic rights, everyone should.

No.

If you are not a racecar you cannot support race car driving.
