Yeh, but usually allies do it wrong by making it about themselves instead of respecting the group they "support."
Prime example on this forum would be a person who appropriates the symbols, terms, and culture of another group not realizing that they have no right to it, and have no position trying to reclaim something that was never theirs in the first place.

absolutely. there are organizations specifically for non-members. For example, I am a member of of the "I love Men" movement even though I am a lesbian.
In all seriousness, though, yes. You absolutely can, and there actually are organizations for that specific purpose, such as the Gay-Straight Alliance.
