I think there's a disconnect between what people think fake quoting is, and what fake quoting really is. Editing the code in your browser is not fake quoting.
it's illegal in ranked/comp games because it's an unfair advantage based on out-of-game browser tampering, in the same way that c/ping mechanics is illegal
Fake quoting doesn't even involve changing the site in anyway.
It literally is doing nothing more than changing a text display on your current screen.
It doesn't affect the site at all...it only affects the person's browser who is attempting the quote.
It's not even close to scripting and this is why people who don't know anything about anything shouldn't be trying to use their discretion to make rules.
AFAIK fake quoting is okay because no one uses them to actually fake an important message in game but rather to mess around (if they did it would be easy to notice). However if someone actually tried to do it in-game, which idk why they would, it'd be OGI I suppose

Faking quotes was handled as OGI previously, who knows.
Fake Quoting is illegal. I don't remember what it used to be in regards to violations because I don't think we've ever had a case in which this was done. I personally believe that it should be considered Cheating.
