skyline if you do not lynch in cops then you give whoever is the real cop another chance for a report or force scum to sac the extra report is exceedingly unlikely to be useful, it's just putting off a necessary vote for a later day when there's potentially less benefit. I don't see the point even though it's a totally legitimate strategy
by pure mathematics it might even be sub-optimal
so in short: if you want to win, go with the flow and focus your energy on doing what you have the power to do to effect the outcome.

if they end up lynching outside the cops they will lynch you instead because jan2 is an established setup with no room for free thought.
i am going to advocate lynching outside of cops in all of my jan 2.0 setups and report the results back here.

If the whole town is voting between cc's there's no reason to split, but gamethrowing is always defined by intent.
