edges along objects/text are high frequency areas that typically have higher ELA values than the rest of the picture so i don't really think you showed anything conclusive in the first post

another thing, if your picture is real why would it have an alpha channel by default? png has alpha channel support but it wouldn't have an alpha channel unless you did something to it
