Ha, awesome. +k
Maybe this could be a jailer/chef/etc. type thing where there's a conversation?

Oh, I forgot to jot down a large portion of my thoughts in that comment.

It becomes a jailer-like meeting with the converter revealed to the target. Would have 2 vote options for each person, accept or decline. If both accept, target becomes traitor. If the target declines, they become unable to talk or vote until visited by a doctor or nurse.

This might be good in games with lots of blues and maybe a shrink that can intercept it. Maf thinks they're talking to the person they chose, and if maf accepts the shrink she helps them work through their issues and become blues. Maybe a multiple mafia setup? And when shrink does this, her role is revealed to all unless the maf don't accept her.

I like it, but i think changing the name to something like Recruiter is better. +k

Cool role, there is a high risk for trying, but success offers a great reward of a new partner to confuse the villagers.

that is so cool, very original

Sounds awesome, the connection would have to scum hunt non-visitng roles and try to convert them to mafia, risking to get found visiting roles.

I like this!
I agree with gordon-only be able to do it once.

I wish that it could vote in the mafia meeting, but be unable to actually execute the kill. Then my turncoat setup would be somewhat possible again.

Regardless, it's a novel idea. Why not have a converting mafia role other than Yakuza? It's simple, shouldn't be too difficult to implement, and it's not like role ideas can be much worse for comp than Cthulu at this point.

Should only be able to do it (successfully) once.

I thought this role would have some pun with the server crashes. Disappointed :(!

If you read that wall of text, I will give you a cookie. Otherwise just read the first sentence for my response to Surye.

That's why they're traitors and not mafia. Traitors count as village, but try to make the Mafia win.

The idea is that the Connection is a front for the mafia, secretly trying to convince people to defect at night. In order to do this, he has to reveal his role to them. People with night actions are critical to game balance, therefore are thought to be "incorruptible souls" who now know the identity of the Connection. People without night actions are AS important, so when the connection tries to convert them, the give-in and defect to the Mafia. However, they are unskilled at killing and can only contribute by being traitors. So not only does this mean the doc could suddenly come-out "I KNOW WHO THE CONNECTION IS!" but if he accidentally tries to convert the killer, the killer will quietly dispatch of him at night, or the fool will throw them for a serious loop.

Nothing like mason, as this changed players wincons. I think it would be mega imbalanced, seeing as mafias win by a majority, this would sweep a game way to fast.

cool idea, similar to mason but mafia sided almost
